Events in the Coromandel Region
The Whangamata Summer Festival has been hosting this event for over eleven years. It is the largest market in the region and is a myriad of sights, sounds and smells with food, drink, craft, instruments, jewellery, fun rides for the children, and much, much more.
The Craft Market day is hugely popular and is a fundraiser for the week long festival

Coro Gold is back for 2011-12 with a new plan that will see the festival expand to 2 days… Dec 30th and New Year’s Eve
In true Coro Gold style the line-up for each day will be epic. Throw in bigger bars, more food, toilets and entertainment and its set to be the best Coro Gold yet!
There's also a new 3 night camping option so you can enjoy the sun, sand and beaches while lapping up 2 massive festival days and nights.
Held in the beautiful surroundings of Coromandel's Ohuka Farm, Coromandel Gold is 3 kilometres from Whitianga town centre and a stone's throw from Buffalo Beach. Because the night will be so huge, camping will be available on site and buses will be running from Whitianga and local beaches.

A huge celebration of food, wine, arts and crafts
The Tairua Wine and Food festival is a ritual amongst
holidaymakers in the Tairua and Pauanui area. Over 10,000 people flock
to the festival each year.
A huge array of food stalls, wine, beer, entertainment and of course stacks of arts and crafts stalls.
The event is the major fundraiser of the year for picturesque Tairua
School - which sits on the Tairua Harbour and has a roll of just under
100 students - and is run completely by parents and kind local
volunteers.
There are no dogs allowed at the festival since it is held on the school grounds and it is also a smokefree area
